Interfering behaviors are present Obviously if a teacher is attempting to take data on one behavior while another is interfering, he will find his data is corrupted. The issue therefore, is to attempt to minimize the interfering behaviors in order to improve the reliability of the target behavior data. Potential Remedy Sometimes new teachers begin providing instruction on content too quickly. Teachers should first establish a controlled classroom environment. Initial academic tasks should be relatively simple until behaviors are under some degree of control. Once a reasonable classroom environment has been achieved, teachers can spend the time on the curricula which they should. |
