Errors are setting or staff specific If only one staff member sees a particular error, it could be that the student only produces that error for that staff member (unlikely) or that the staff member is looking at the wrong behavior. In data collection there is often the problem of "observer drift," meaning that although there may have been agreement at the start about the definition of a behavior, over time there has become confusion such that two observers are not looking for or at the same behavior. Potential Remedy Get together with your co-teachers or instructional aides to discuss the behavior. Be sure to describe the behavior specifically to ensure all observers are looking for or at the same behavior |
