Community Colleges

California offers students transitioning from secondary school a unique opportunity for advanced education through its high quality, highly affordable, highly visible system of community colleges.

Eligibility Criteria - Virtually any individual 18 years of age or older who can benefit from instruction can pursue an educational program at a community college.

Most if not all community colleges offer disabled student programs and services through their services to students with disabilities offices.  These offices provide supports necessary for individuals with disabilities to successfully complete their educational program. Training ranges from very basic certificate programs (such as those leading to a "food handler's certificate") to advanced programs  leading to the Associate Degree.  Additional support for program participation can be received directly from the Department of Rehabilitation, or through collaborations such as the Workability 3 program.  There is also the 2+2 program.
